Sport, solidarity and prevention came together at Club Padel Murcia in an event supporting people with Alzheimer’s and their families.
Last Saturday, October 31, Club Padel Murcia hosted the first charity padel tournament organized by AFADE, the Association of Families of Alzheimer’s and Other Dementias of the Region of Murcia. Lord Spices took part as main sponsor of a day where sport, solidarity and prevention came together.
For seven hours, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., male and female players in categories A and B competed in an event designed for all ages and levels, under the slogan “Brain health comes into play. Play today. Take care of your tomorrow.”
The event had a clear purpose: to raise awareness of the importance of caring for brain health throughout life and to support the programs and services through which AFADE improves the quality of life of people with Alzheimer’s and their families. All proceeds go toward that goal.
As main sponsor, Lord Spices was featured in the welcome pack given to participants, which included a tote bag and a jar of spices bearing our brand identity, along with the official tournament T-shirt and other gifts. In the afternoon, after the awards ceremony, the day continued with a Halloween party for the little ones, with games, entertainment and surprises, because prevention and brain health education begin at home.
For a family business with four generations of history like Lord Spices, supporting those who care for people with Alzheimer’s and their families is a natural way of giving back to society a part of what it gives us. We believe in the value of people, in work well done, and in the importance of memory, both individual and collective.
We would like to thank AFADE for its daily work and for the invitation to be part of this initiative, as well as the collaborating companies, Club Padel Murcia, the participants, and all the families who made this first tournament possible. We hope it will be the first of many editions.
Because, as the event’s slogan said, padel adds up too.
